I understand that my children are adults and I am proud of their accomplishments.

As a parent, I want the world for my children! However, I understand that my children are adults and capable of making their own decisions. Sometimes, what they see as being best for themselves may be quite different from my ideals as a parent.

Of course, we have differing opinions every now and then. But my children are responsible adults as a result of their upbringing and I am confident that they are fully able to choose their own path. I understand everyone has to leave the nest at some point in order to create his or her own life.

When I find it challenging to cope with the fact that I have little say in the decisions my children make, I remind myself that, as adults, it is their right to do as they please. My children make sound decisions, whether I agree with them or not, because they value the lessons of their childhood.

For this reason, I make a conscious effort to welcome their diverse viewpoints and opinions. I feel that this degree of diversity is essential in maintaining a healthy relationship with both my children and their spouses.

My kids are valuable members of society. They are skilled professionals and devoted to their families. I feel blessed to have such accomplished individuals in my life.

Today, I feel honored that my children continue to strive for greatness! In a world where success in youth is rare, I watch with excitement as my children flourish and become successful adults!

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I live vicariously through my children?
  2. Have my children ever given me a reason to question their decisions?
  3. Am I too involved in my children’s lives?
