SHANA MARSHALL-HOLMES

Shana Marshall-Holmes is your DC homegirl, a native of the District of Columbia, with a couple of degrees, a couple of kids, and a whole “lotta” love for Jesus.
Shana has spent the last 12 years working in social services, working with DC’s most vulnerable populations- from sexually abused youth to the elderly and disabled. As a child, Shana always knew she wanted to help someone in some way. Serving as a facilitator and founding member of Pillow Talk, a program implemented on her college campus, designed to educate and support young women on college campuses regarding dating, sex, and safety. Pillow Talk allowed an open and confidential forum for young women to share their stories, find solace and gain understanding.
As our resident connoisseur of fashion, Shana has produced fashion shows to raise money for her college- the mighty Paul Quinn College in Dallas which was utilized for scholarships and community improvement. She has organized massive back-to-school events serving over 5,000 families in DC, providing students with uniforms, book bags, haircuts, dental and health screenings to help prepare students for their return to school.
Service to her community is a huge part of Shana’s life and one of the things that motivate her every morning to serve the residents of the District of Columbia.
Now as co-host of Boadaciously Her, Shana, and the ladies look to create that same space for women to feel celebrated, safe, and more importantly- free to share their life experiences- BOLDLY. To not be ashamed of their thoughts, desires, fears, mistakes, or heartaches because they are what makes us beautiful, fearless, and Bodacious!
When Shana isn’t helping her family and community. She enjoys spending time with her two sons, exploring new museums and artwork around the DMV, or faking like she’s Kobe on the basketball court.
Shana has worked to overcome many obstacles in her own life and has enjoyed watching God turn ashes into beauty. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 6:26-34, which reminds her to not put faith in things, people, or moments. Instead, trust God with all her might, because he has NEVER failed.
